Colonialism can be defined as the acquisition and colonization by a State of foreign territories and their peoples. It often entailed the economic exploitation of natural resources, the expansion of the colonizing State ‘s civilization and the removal of indigenous artefacts. Le colonialisme peut être défini comme l'acquisition et la colonisation par un Etat d'un territoire étranger et de la population de ce territoire. Il entraîne souvent l'exploitation économique des ressources naturelles, la propagation de la culture de l'Etat colonisateur ainsi que le déplacement d'objets culturels autochtones. |
