Planets and moon with stellarium
To observe a planet or the Moon with Telesto, use Stellarium:
1) Follow the STARTUP procedure in the Telesto user manual.
2) In the OBSERVATIONS section, choose a target using Stellarium (p.19 of the manual).
3) For planets, use ‘Slew and Center’; for the Moon, use ‘Slew’ (p.21 of the manual)
For the MOON ONLY:
When you take a picture of the Moon, if it is not centered in the image, slightly adjust the pointing coordinates (Framing tab → Coordinates) as described in the user manual (p. 19). Then ‘Slew’ the telescope and take another picture. Repeat this process until the Moon is well centered.
