How to install et configure a VDI on iPad and iPhone

Background and prerequisites

This article describes the installation of the Omnissa Horizon Client software (formerly VMware) allowing access to virtual desktops (VDI - Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) prepared for certain members of UNIGE.

Environment

• Software: Omnissa Horizon Client (VDI client), formerly VMware
• Operating System: iOS
• Language: Multilingual

How to do it

1. Download

• Go to the Omnissa Horizon IPad or IPhone (external link at Omnissa)

2. Configuration

The configuration point is required during a first installation

Note that the configuration remains unchanged during an update , so there is no need to follow this point.

The VDI access application is now installed.
Depending on your context, you can, for example, connect to a VDI :

• as a student or teacher (eduvdi.unige.ch)
• as a teleworking employee ( vdi.unige.ch)
