Software configuration settings

Below are the necessary settings for using the various software programs with Telesto. If you create a new account or replace your computer, please reconfigure the settings as outlined here.

MAESTRO4 SETTINGS

Settings - Common - Com & Device Selection...:
Telescope - COM3 - Legacy (checked)

NINA SETTINGS

Connections - Equipment

Camera:

QHY600MPCIE (f6928a7f) (these are the optical fibers)

Connect and then change the settings on the camera page:
Default gain - 56 (25 is the Unitary gain)
Default offset - 10
Readout mode for snapshots - High Gain Mode 16BIT
Readout mode for sequences - High Gain Mode 16BIT

Filter wheel:

ASCOM - QHYFWRS232 FilterWheel
Settings - QHYCFW Generation: QHYCFW2/3 & Comm Port: COM6

The filters order is the following:

  • U
  • B
  • V
  • R
  • I
  • SII
  • OIII
  • H-alpha
  • L

Focuser:

ASCOM - Device Hub Focuser
Settings - Focuser Device - Choose - ASCOM FOcuser Driver for OSBus

Rotator: 

No rotator

Mount:

ASCOM - Astrometric telescope control via Maestro
Settings - Telescope Device - Choose - Maestro by Astrometric Inst. 

Guider: 

No guider

Dome: 

ASCOM - Device Hub Dome
Settings - Dome Device - Choose - Shelyak Dometracker ASCOM driver 
Settings - Dome Device - Choose - Properties... - Insert the data below:

Options

General:

Name: Telesto 
Sky Survey cache folder: E:\NINA_FramingAssistantCache

Equipment:

Telescope Name: Telesto 
Focal length: 2280 mm
Focal ratio: 3.8
Mount name: Officina Stellare
Planetarium: Stellarium 
Filter wheel: write the correct names of the filters

Dome: 

Mount Type - Fork on Wedge
Dome radius - 3000 mm
Allow sync while mount slews - ON
Sync slew dome when scope slews - ON
Find home before parking - OFF

Imaging:

Image file path: E:\images_nina\

Plate Solving:

Plate solver - ASTAP
Blind solver - ASTAP
