HARPS-N Operations and Observations

Summary

HARPS-N is the northern brother of ESO's High Accuracy Radial velocity Planet Searcher. It is installed and operated at the TNG telescope at the Roque de los Muchachos observatory on the island of La Palma. Its main purpose is to performe radial-velocity follow-up of Kepler planet candidates and to search for low-mass extra-solar planets in the habitable zone of their parent stars

Publications based on data obtained with the HARPS instrument should quote the following reference paper: Mayor, M. et al. 2003, The Messenger 114, 20 and to the upcoming paper by Cosentino et al, 2012, SPIE Proceeding of the Conference on Astronomical Telescopes and Instrumentation
